Matoa generally only bear fruit once a year between July - October and then bear fruit again 4 months later. Matoa spread in almost all regions of New Guinea Island. There are various kinds of matoa fruits with different colors - red, green, yellow, and black which are mostly found in Jayapura up to the border of Papua New Guinea. This plant grows in a dry place that is not inundated by water.
BENEFITS OF MATOA FRUIT!
Matoa fruit can be eaten fresh and taste like a combination of rambutan and of litchi which of course makes it a very tasty fruit. Because it tastes good, this fruit has a sale value high enough. Matoa fruit rich in vitamin C and vitamin E, but the fruit is rich in saturated glucose so if too many consume it will cause a "hangover".
