Description
South Kalimantan, mostly known as peatland, causes a fire disaster once a year. A solution to prevent such natural disasters is to make canals. There are so many canals found in South Kalimantan built by the villagers. In addition to preventing forest fires, the canals could be used as a transportation line by using boats (klotok). Klotok, usually called Getek, is a boat of small size that can accommodate approximately ten people and is used for the daily transportation needs of passengers and transporting goods. There is also a small boat called the local people "Jukung." Jukung is used as a means of transportation, traditional trade, and equipment for catching fish in rivers, lakes, or marshes. South Borneo is known as a thousand rivers land. The geographical conditions of South Borneo were filled with rivers, both large and small rivers. These rivers are very useful as vital communication infrastructure and transportation by local people.

Jason Sentuf replied:
Hi, Marsha...Sketching is my artwork tradition since I was childhood before I start to paint. It is an early exploration of sketch for a painting. By sketching, painters can change the composition of an original image object, developed the idea or object into a foundation of starting to paint. I am glad you F/V this piece and Thanks for visit...Happy Painting!
