Artist's Description
There are various kinds of matoa fruit in Papua: red, black, green, and yellow - almost all of them are found in Jayapura up to the Papua New Guinea border. This kind of fruit can be eaten fresh and tastes like a combination of rambutan and litchi which of course makes it very tasty fruit. Because it tastes good, this fruit has a sale value high enough. It is very expensive per kilogram if taken out of Papua and sold in some big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar, etc. However, nowadays matoa trees are also found in those cities and other parts of Indonesia country. However, the taste is different from the original Papuan matoa fruit.
Matoa fruit rich in vitamin C and vitamin E, but the fruit is rich in saturated glucose so if too many consume it will cause a "hangover".
About Jason Sentuf
My name is Jason Sentuf. I am a Pastor of a Church in Indonesia, but painting is also my hobby. Thank God that he has given me such a talent since I was Child. Whether by visiting museums or reading their history books, both greatest painters have increased my knowledge of how to paint professionally and add techniques and the ability to find all beauties around me and express this beauty on canvas or paper.
