Swift nest buildings like this one are everywhere throughout South Kalimantan. Swiftlet spouses met in the same nest. The nest is high up in the roof space under the eaves of houses and churches, where the birds can fall into the air from the nest's entrance. The nest is built with any material that can be collected, including feathers, paper, straw, hay, and grain. It is cemented together with saliva and renovated and reused year after year.
Traditional medicine believes the bird's nest has many benefits and efficacy for human health. Belief in the benefits of a bird's nest is amplified due to its high nutritional value. My name is Jason Sentuf. I am a Pastor of a Church in Indonesia, but painting is also my hobby. Thank God that he has given me such a talent since I was Child. I Never follow a formal Art Education or any painting course - because painting is my natural hobby. I am more inclined to paint landscapes, animals, and human bodies since primary school. I was influencing European Expressionism and Impressionism painting styles. I like Claude Monet's and Vincent Van Gogh's painting styles. Whether by visiting museums or reading their history books, both greatest painters have increased my knowledge of how to paint professionally and add techniques and the ability to find all beauties around me and express this beauty on canvas or paper. After...

As well as being a spectacular work of art, your commentary was very interesting. Just one question (hope it's not a stupid one) does anyone eat the birds' nests?
Jason Sentuf replied:
Not everyone here eats swallow's nest ... because it is very expensive ...The local swallow's nest sellers usually sell it overseas such as China, Korea, Japan and others. Thanks Leah, for the comment and good question...
