West Papua is not very well known and is unpopular in its name globally. It's a western part of New Guinea Island, the most oversized Island in the world after Greenland. Administratively, New Guinea is divided into two parts. The western part is West Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), the Indonesian state's territory. Meanwhile, the eastern part is Papua New Guinea, an independent country since 1975. West Papua is a rich land with natural resources such as gold, oil, gas, uranium, and nickel, and globally well-known as the largest rainforest on our planet. There are two most prominent cities in this Land. The first is Jayapura, the capital city of Papua Province, and the second is Sorong City in the western part of West Papua Province. As you see in this painting, this is the Western part of Sorong City, namely Rufei. Formerly, this area was inhabited by the indigenous Papua-Melanesian race. But, in the last decade, multi-racial populations who immigrated from all over Indonesia have fully...
My name is Jason Sentuf. I am a Pastor of a Church in Indonesia, but painting is also my hobby. Thank God that he has given me such a talent since I was Child. I Never follow a formal Art Education or any painting course - because painting is my natural hobby. I am more inclined to paint landscapes, animals, and human bodies since primary school. I was influencing European Expressionism and Impressionism painting styles. I like Claude Monet's and Vincent Van Gogh's painting styles. Whether by visiting museums or reading their history books, both greatest painters have increased my knowledge of how to paint professionally and add techniques and the ability to find all beauties around me and express this beauty on canvas or paper. After...

Hi Jason you have made my day! You have commented on my work before. Thank you for the kind words. While checking out your work this one caught my eye. It seems like a difficult painting to do but you did a wonderful job. Good luck in the Billboard contest if you entered! Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely paintings.
Jason Sentuf replied:
Hello Laura! Thank you for your encouraging comment! Yes, of course, this is one of the difficult paintings I did. I usually have three stages of application in painting: 1st. ABSTRACT, 2nd. MODELING, 3rd. FINAL DETAIL. I spent almost 5 days finishing this painting using Winsor & Newton oil with "Refined Linseed Oil"
