Title
Good Morning Ayamaru
Artist
Jason Sentuf
Medium
Painting - Winton Oil On Canvas
Description
Ayamaru comes from its native word root, "aya," which means "water," and "maru," which means "lake." ... - it is one of the most beautiful lakes in Papua that the Dutch government ever mapped as a tropical lake tourism area called "Ajamaroe Meer" in Dutch!
This painting has three stages of application, according to Diane McClary's art teaching principle:
1st. ABSTRACT, consisting of simple shapes in color and value
2nd. MODELING, where dark planes are added to create form and correct drawing.
3rd. THE FINAL DETAIL consists of adding small dark and light accents and details.
First, I sketched using burnt sienna and then drew the shapes and characteristics of various pine trees.
After sketching shapes, I chose the primary colors red - orange - white, magenta, and blue to create warm and cold colors. I lay them on the canvas to get the impression of sunlight and shade temperature before moving my brushstroke to other objects.
I started with cool red colors on every shadow of pine cone leaves toward warm red. With the help of photographs, I can capture the reflection of light on the trees and various types of tropical mountain pine trees with different forms of leaves. I started with the same red because these colors stimulated my imagination and aroused enthusiasm and passion for creating work.
I created this painting to honor my late mother. It is a small part of my mother's land she has given to the local government for the Junior High School buildings. She is a landlord highly respected by village communities and our local authorities.
Bahasa Indonesia
